help please! hesitation issue

Featured Replies

Hi everyone I have an octavia elegance 1.9tdi 51 plate. Whenever I release the accelerate pedal slowly or fast the car hesitates or jolts, and I can hear it. any ideas? almost a pulling sensation.

also, I'm going to hopefully remap this car, will I need a new clutch? if thats the case will a standard euro car parts one do or should i be looking at an uprated clutch? (the car's done 170k but I don't see myself getting a vrs anytime soon so wanna keep it going put some new life into it :giggle:

Not sure about hesitation issue, but you could do with a solid flywheel conversion, the dmf will suffer quickly. Solidflywheel and clutch kit I used was the valeo one, nice and quiet - no chatter. Oh and on these 170k is a drop in a bucket

Thanks just what I was looking for, where did you buy your kit from? I've seen one at euro car parts $251 for the flwheel conversio and 150 for the clutch are they both seperate kits? also seen cheaper but same valeo make on ebay but not too sure there. Yea these are solid cars and awsome on mpg!

I pulled mine out of an upside down friends crashed octavia. so mine was 2 weeks old and cost £30. I have seen them on ebay for around £150 as a complete set, always better to buy them together to ensure a fit.

A remap on these can only get between 25-35bhp increase and a wee bit of torque, nothing major so this kit would do:

They have two sets for our 1u2 tdi's both are £153 and cover two engine codes each, although im sure they are the same.

I must add though, if its fine just now leave it and wait and see if it fails, it may not

wow lucky you salvaged form a crashed octy  . That kit seems reasonably priced compared to euro car parts 250!. I think I'll wait for now, im going oxford on Tue to remap mine see how it holds up then replace it if needs be. Any suggesstions on suspension/springs etc? just for comfort and handling rather than extreme lowering/looks. cheers.

weitecs coilovers are the go to make on here generally, if you have them at full height theyre not much lower, but handling and ride will improve. Personally i run a £165 set of jom coilovers and find em fine, but i am pretty low.

Think there is some octy 1 weitecs for sale in for sale section for £275 which is good as over £400 new
