Steering wheel shaking when braking

Featured Replies

OK, the end of another epic road trip has come. I think I may have warped one of the front discs on a particularly steep downhill section in the Alps where we dropped from 2500 meters altitude. On a few occasions I smelled the brakes burning! But there was little I could do, as I have an auto box, so engine braking is limited. Anyway, many miles later, on the way back via Germany I noticed bad vibration when applying brakes at 90-100mph, and it felt like coming from the RHS. Looking at the disc, there are lines, where brake material has accumulated. See the image below.

Can anyone interpret this other than a warped disc?? P1020437.jpg
