Anyone recommend mid-high range head unit + front speakers for my mk1 fabia sdi

Hi,

Sorry for the really vague title but I've recently came back from a years internship in Chicago, during my stay I met a lot of people who spent literally 1000s on ICE for their cars and it made me so jealous.

I ended up buying a sub from Hellfords for just over £120 (I think the brand was Vibe) it came with a built in amp and so far so good, it actually sounds really decent.

Now that I'm back, money is tight so rather than buying a new car, I've decided to just do a few tweaks/upgrades to my Fabia (which will hopefully keep the urges to buy a new car down).

I've done a lot of research into different head units and so far this one really stands out .

I've read that Pioneer are one of the best and I'm comfortable spending that amount of money(about £140-160) on a head unit. Does that sound like a reasonable choice? I like this because it has a dedicated sub-out which apparently is always good.

I'm just a little stuck on spreakers. I have the 1.9 SDI classic, so just really basic. Was looking into have 2x 6x9's on my parcel shelf, but I read a thread in the Fabia I forum and someone had a really bad experience. So I'm just looking to upgrade the 2 stock speakers in the front. I know there's limited space for door speakers and that spacers are needed when fitting non-standard speakers, (currently in the process of eBay-ing some).

My budget for the head unit is around £150 give or take and about £100 for two speakers. Is that a good enough budget? I can always spend more if it's worth it.

I know it's a vague topic and theres loads of threads on the subject, but I can't find any for fabia Classics.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: my only requirement is that the head unit has an aux-in, won't really use anything else.
