90 - 110 injector swap! Knowledge needed, Also anyone have some to sell?

Featured Replies

After reading another post im tempted to do this on my car.

What bhp increase can i expect? 5? 10?

Will this affect mpg without a remap?

Will it smoke badly on stock map?

You get the idea, anyone on here done this?

would also like to buy some from a member

Thanks Carl

This is a very common mod in the US where the 90 is common and 110 is rare.

You will need to adjust the IQ and to get the correct range you may need to perform a mechanical adjustment to the IP known as the 'hammer mod'.

see http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/multi/IQ-adjust-hammer-mod-TDI.htm

I've seen it done on the ALH without a remap and there was only a small amount of smoke at WOT.

so basically what i plan to do is this: (and correct me if im being too flippant)

Im gonna fit them and run the car as is and see what the effect is. If its too smokey, the hammer mod to lower IQ just a fraction until im happy with the level of smoke.

I know this is very simplistic and rather thuggish, but i am very particular and i KNOW when its not running right or needs adjustment. When im happy find a vag com owner to make sure......Does torque pro give me this info?

Thanks for the tips there mate, very helpful

Ideally, you would use VCDS to adjust the IQ. If your target IQ cannot be achieved with VCDS, only then do you do the hammer mod to change the quantity adjuster range. After doing the hammer mod, you use VCDS to set the target IQ, which should now be in range.
