How to find someone by Mobile number

Featured Replies

Hi

I purchased an item off the TT forum but the guy has failed to deliver the goods, I mistakenly deleted his address but have a mobile number, how would I find out how to get a name and address, if it was his personal mobile.

You've got little chance getting name and address from mobile number in all honesty. Your best bet is to try and find somebody else who knows it and is willing to give it to you. Alternatively you might consider going to Small Claims court - I'm not sure on the technicalities of it, but no doubt they can get his details from the mobile number once you've filed a claim against him, I presume any costs would be borne by you, but you would be awarded that back in costs if you won (??).

Good luck :)

He's blocked my 3 mobile numbers now, maybe I should post his number on here and you could all ring and ask him lol.

you could go use a payphone lol

If it's a pay-as-you-go mobile phone it may be totally impossible in any case. If you buy a Virgin phone you don't have to provide name and address details - pay cash and it will be totally untraceable.

However if you're saying you've paid money and haven't received goods then report the matter to the Police - why waste time trying to find him yourself? They can then try and prosecute if they find him?

I'd PM the admin of the forum involved, should be able to put a little pressure on perhaps :)

Why not put him on the forum ...put a thread on the TT forum where you found him and let them know not to buy from him or trust him and ask them for advice ....does anyone on there know him?

I remember seening a website that you had to pay for where it would give you the location of the mobile (not a clue how)

dont know if it gave you map coordinates or what but alays thought it sounded interesting

will try and find the link but dont think i will find it

worth serching for though

The person with the mobile has to approve the 'tracing' as otherwise the company is in breach of the Data Protection Act. In any event it only tracks to the general area they're located in - the mast they're using rather than the address or coordinates.

... and it has to be switched on...

PM me the details if you want, just for my own curiosity - not that I can help.
