Why does it always happen on cold, dark, wet mornings?

Never when it's warm and dry, grrrrrrr :-(

Sods law!

When I had my first puncture in years it was during a torrential downpour. Days and hours either side were bright sunny and warm!

It's true. The one time my mums car broke down, it was December, my old car broke down once, on a dark and cold February night, and my dad had a puncture earlier this year, while it was chucking it down. Summer, we didn't have any problems

Maybe there's a rain goblin that chucks nails all over the road when it's wet...

Tempting fate here, but in 5 years of driving and 75,000+ miles of driving, I've still not had a puncture... hmmm...

Serious answer - When it's wet, the grit, broken glass, nails and whathaveyous are lubricated and slip through the rubber in the tyre easier.
