Problems with Bolero, no sound and can't change stations.

Featured Replies

Had no problems with the radio until yesterday. It came on with the ignition as normal but there was no sound and the volume control on the set and the MFSW didn't do anything. Then found I couldn't change stations. It doesn' work with the SD card either. All the menu functions seem to work though.

I have noticed since, that a "mute" sign has now appeared in the display. I don't think it was there at first but I can't find any reference to this in the manuals as to how I might have turned it on or how to turn it off.

Is this the problem or is there a more serious underlying one.

Hoping for some advice before taking it to the dealer..it's still under warranty.

Press the wheel in on the left hand scroll wheel on the MFSW. This is the pause/mute button.

Tried that and it didn't do anything.

Is the volume adjusted up, the Columbus shows a mute sign if you turn the volume right down to minimum ?

Can't adjust the volume, nothing happens.

I'd try a hard re-boot on the unit, by removing the fuse or dropping the battery off for a few minutes.

Thanks for that info, it worked. Just curious now to know what caused it.

Well it is logic controlled so the cpu must have had a moment.

I'd not worry unless it keeps happening.

Do you have a multichanger?

My stream unit was going a bit odd for a while and the only way I could get it to unlock itself was to eject a disk from the multichanger.

for some reason that would jar it back to life.

My Stream throws a wobbler sometimes. I just reboot it and all is well.
