Hi guys I'm after a decent set of hid kit for my Fabia Vrs mk1(54 plate) I seen these on eBay the price seems a bit low to be realistic but do you think they will be ok? Please tell me where you got yours from and how much. Cheers

i bought a set off ebay from hids direct with the H7R lamp which you should use if you are using normal headlights and they are great, cost me £40

I paid £25 for my kit and it was a hi/lo bi xenon kit and that was absolutely fine. That one will likely be a bit better.

HID's are sore subject here at moment due to legality issues. If you do get them, im sure you will be happy but there are many haters on here, so dont announce it and post pics as you will likely get alot of people lecturing you.

I love em, those will be fine, in my opinion choose 4300k or 5000k as any higher looks too blue in normal reflector headlights, and you get more light output.

Yeah I have been informed that they are actually not road legal so ill just update my bulbs lol cheers

Are better bulbs still best way forward?

Still not really legal or advisable unless you are using them with projector lights. Please do not install them in the normal Fabia reflector lights as anyone who says they're not blinding etc are lying. I have tried them in a normal light and there was a lot of light scatter so took them straight out.

Go to halfords and ask what ranges they have..they are now doing if i remember right up to 130 percent brighter bulbs..the HID kits dont work properly as the reflectors arent correct which results in a scattered light pattern instead of a focussed beam onto the road which means you dont get the light you need and you blind every man and his dog in a 10 mile area.

 

Only way to do it properly is to replace your entire headlight with a HID approved version then replace the bulbs with that kit

 

other than that get the uprated standard bulbs
