Help Wiring Aerial Adapter - With photos

Featured Replies

I am fitting an aftermarket stereo to my 2004 Mk1 Octavia.

I have the wiring harness and aerial adapter, but I am unsure as to where to connect the blue wire.

Looking at this thread (http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/43971-ice-iso-connections/) it would appear that the brown connector is for speakers, so it needs to go into the black connector. Or am I completely wrong and it actually needs to go in the other end of the harness (big black block)?

Using the link above, and the photo of the smaller black connector, there are wires coming out of 4, 6, 7 and 8.

Pin 4 - permanent +12v

Pin 6 - illumination

Pin 7 - ignition

Pin 8 - chassis ground

So I need to put the blue aerial connector in what should be pin 5 (Pin 5 - automatic aerial) which should be next to the yellow wire in the second photo. Correct?

Thanks in advance.

Correct!

Correct as in the last sentence or correct as in I am completely wrong? haha

Personally I think it needs to be attached to the blue wire coming out of the big block. Is the the actual wiring loom coming out of the stereo or is it an ISo adapter ? If it is an adapter it might not be needed as there not needed on the fabia not sure on octavia? Also don't forget to swap the red and yellow wires over as well

If I am permitted, I just want to ask a simple and short question that I think is about this topic. Recently I have changed my Octavia II stream unit with a Sony xav-601bt. The problem that bothers me is that the original radio(stream) was operable at the start of the engine and it was closing automatically when the engine stopped. Besides this operating mode it was functional even without the key in the contact at the start/stop of the button. So the stream had two possibilities to be powered. My electrician said that the new unit could not be wired to be operable in booth ways like the old one. The first option was only with the engine running or the second wiring option was that in which I always start and close the unit from the button. I was wondering, is it possible(by any means of labor or cost) to make the Sony unit to work like the original stream? Thanks in advance for you answer.
