furbs speakers in front door

Featured Replies

i took the door card off my furbz today and went to change the speakers but!!!! theres stupid sopt weldin thingys keeping the speakers in place how do i get rid of then and when the speakers have been removed do screws screw into the holes?

any help or advice would be great :P

Drill through them with a small drill piece should do the trick, so I've read.

Yep - drill the rivets out, and secure mounting for new speakers using bolts through holes drilled. :)

Or you could just re rivet them.

The reason behind them being riveted is so they dont leak water into the car. If you use the correct rivets then they will break off at the correct tightness.

ok, will a Dremil do the drilling rivet job? and where would i get a rivet thing from? :)

Local hardware shop, possibly B&Q/Homebase but not 100% sure on that, or perhaps Screwfix or similar if you prefer online ones.

Should be able to find tooling + rivets to go with them I'd imagine.

As for the leaking aspect - how about screwing them in and then just putting some silicone (or other waterproof) sealant ensuring it's sealed in avoiding leaks? Might be easier, not sure though :)
