What's the deal with mk2 vrs's

Coming from being a long term mk1 and 1.8t owner, as well as being a vw qualified mechanic, I have quote a good knowledge of mk4 platform cars and engines, however the mk5s were only just around when I stopped working on them, maybe only a year old, so just want to know the crack with the 2.0tfsi, I know they have there few common problems like all models etc, are there any bits you can remove on the engine that are not needed, I.e like the secondary air pump removal, n112 n249 bypass which is common on the 1.8t. I know being a newer engine it may be more prone to not liking bits removed, with it's more sofisticated management system, there doesn't seem to be many mk2 project threads unless someone can point me in the right direction
