Have a look in the for sale section on here, good 2nd hand bargains to be had.

JL Audio subs are the finest dogs dangly bits.

I think I am the only person who hasnt been impressed with a Vibe??
No you're not the only one. Ive listened to one and yeah- theyre loud, but the quality of the bass wasnt that good imo

Im treating my new car (when I get the damn thing) to an Alpine amp (600W RMS @2ohm etc....) and a Kicker sub thats able to handle the full power rating. The amp is 189.99 from Here. With the sub is goes over the 250quid budget but for the money I think it looks like a pretty good amp.

Maybe look out for a reduced sub to go with it?? ;)

I'd say an Alpine Type R. They give very good accoustics.

If your feeling flush go for the Specifically made 'vented' box from Alpine that are specifically made for the Type S/R subs. Cost

Yeh suppose so.

Its a lot when you think of it as a bit of mdf and carpet though

Think i'll order mine and see what difference it makes.............if any!

Thinking about selling my Alpine M500 mono amp (500+rms @2ohms 14.4v) and my SPL dynamics 12D4 sub. Looking around

I'm not keen on Vibe stuff either.

JL Audio for me.

Ok, cheers guys! When I say impressed by the Vibe, I mean in the value for money stakes! And in all honesty, it sounded pretty decent for the price.

However, I am now opting for more of an "SQ" setup. I will soon have a Nakamichi CD400 head unit, and am really tempted by the Focal Polyglass 165 V Slim speakers, probably with a Genesis Stereo 100 amp and Noisekiller treatment. And disconnect the rear speakers. Should be nice till I save up some more money... :P

Can anyone recommend a good, well respected ICE forum?

If you're going for quality rather than volume, I'd recommend MB quart. I had a PWD 304 in my Furby until it was stolen, and while these normally go for about

Go for a sealed 12" Alpine Type R in a sealed box' date=' good allrounder's[/quote']

I have this in my furby at the moment and to be honest I think its the wrong choice. It all depends on what kind of music you play in the car. The Type R 12 is great for low deep bass but not really punchy enough at the house frequencies for me. Its a bit of a slag to drive as well and is very power hungry - you'd need at least 300-400W RMS. I would suggest an alpine type R 10inch.

I can beat Car Audio Security prices by a few quid on most things - PM if you're interested.
