how often should you change the diesel filter,i have 17000 on my yeti now and think it should be changed[or should it?]

is it a diy job?or a garage visit,not sure how to do it,is it easy,or bit of a pain.any info guys!

Don't worry about it, it isn't due to be changed yet.

I replaced mine at 18000 miles just after skoda service, I did this myself as it is an easy job, amazed how dirty the filter was. The filter isn't expensive and go on the view that you only need 1 tank of crap fuel to give you problems in the future particularly as we are coming into cold weather. Changed the air filter while I was at it.

Also.... what is involved in replacing it?

I'm interested in this.Does the fuel system need priming after the filter is changed?
