Service Intervals 1.9tdi

Featured Replies

I had my car serviced about 6000 miles ago when I bought it. Had the Cambelt, water pump, oil filter, oil, fuel filter, air filter and pollen filter all changed.

It's now flashing "service now" when I turn the ignition on.

Is this done on a mile basis, or does the car decide when it needs servicing?

My minis all changed the servicing depending on how it was driven.

Thanks in advance!

they prob didnt reset the indicator, i would say 10k to 12k

So it'll be okay, the car has 120,000 miles on it. Is it still okay for 10,000 between services?

I would have thought so mate yes. Mines done 200k and i only just put it to 7k

They could have done a service but when it wasn't due (i.e. 4,000 miles after the last service) hence why it thinks it wants one now.

If you have someone near you with VCDS you can check exactly how long ago and how many miles since the service indicator was last reset and whether it is on fixed or variable.

How long is it since you bought it?

Bought it 3 months ago.

Had the Cambelt, water pump and full service done the day after I bought it.

That was 3 months and 6,200 miles ago.

It was also remapped too.

I wouldn't be surprised if they effectively did an extra service on it only 4,000 miles after the last one. Does the service book have a date for the previous service in it?
