I am a returning Skoda driver as from tomorrow!

I have owned one Fabia, two Octavias and a Yeti. I have just sold my V8 '04 Lexus which was a smashing if expensive diversion (especially towing a van 1000 miles to Scotland and back!!!) and will be collecting a new 170 Elegance Hatch (manual).

Delivery was about 3 weeks and I had the only one that was available as I can't wait more than a month once my mind is made up! Cappucino beige is the colour which I expect will hide the winter muck nicely.

Winter tyres and 16" steelies waiting for when the weather gets bad - soon I think.

The No VAT and 0% finance was very persuasive.

I chose the 170 Manual as I think It will give the best towing experience. I love the DSG but I am not 100% sure of its long term reliability. I intend to run this car over 100,000 miles plus like my first Octavia. That was a PD140 and ran to 120,000 before requiring a new Turbo!

I have reservations over the dpf having had one bad experience with one on a Mercedes and I will have to get used to a harder noisier ride (compared to the Lexus) I hope and am sure that it will prove a most satisfying ownership proposition!

Have read lots on this excellent forum and will contribute wher I can!

I am also a fairly new Superb Elegance owner (6 weeks) and can't get the smile off my face. It's such a fantastic car. I do not understand why I don't see many on the roads. Where are they all? They certainly are not around the Tunbridge Wells area.

I'm frequently in Tunbridge Wells in my Rosso Elegance!

Hi Argee, look out for an Elegance Estate fnished in Amethyst on a 12 plate cruising around Crowborough or RTW - it will probably be me.

First trip. 80miles. Impressed.

More comfortable, more refined and better to drive than expected. Over 50mpg on maxidot - (probably 45 in reality) not bad for first trip!

Yep. Had mine since the end of July and it's still great. And as a bonus it's getting better mpgs as the weeks go by. Either I'm learning how to change up earlier or it's loosening up a bit?
