Turbo has no boost...

Featured Replies

Morning all,

As the topic title suggests there is no boost to the turbo. It can be heard to start up normally but then it starts to sound like its sucking on a straw or like a hoover. Doesn't sound like there is any grinding or bits flying around so I don't think the fan blade or bearing. Maybe just a boost pipe or air intake?

I don't know if it's worth mentioning that it went funny mid trip (so warm engine), no bang or anything like that and I have never hit the rev limiter in the 18 months I have had it. And to the best of my knowledge the car is standard across the board. Serviced regularly too.

Just picking some brains before I have to stump up some cash to skoda for the use of their "special" Laptop.

Thanks for reading! :)

could be a boost pipe but you tend to hear it resonate when ones popped off but still worth a look! and look at the vacuum control unit see if pipe 6 has come off as this stops t boost aswell.

Cheers for the reply. Had it looked at with a laptop. No error codes. And changed all the vacuum pipes. Yet still the same problem.

Anymore ideas?
