CK7-W... D.I.Y installation

Featured Replies

Just got the CK-7w kit on e-bay for

I have this kit, with the 15s holder. Got it fitted professionally. With it being a BT kit, do you actually want\need the holder? I got one for mine as I like having somewhere to put the phone in the car, and that it gets charged.

With mine, the guy put the control box behind the glovebox and I've got the 15s on a 'Dashmount' no-drill bracket, in the high position to the left of the radio. The wire then runs through the cubby hole below the radio and he drilled a small hole in the back of it, and ran the wire to the control box that way. Extra control button is attached next to my bank of blank switches and the wire runs down the side of the end one, past the back of the radio to the control box.

I've got a 'T-bar' style antenna stuck to the top-middle of the windscreen behind the rearview mirror and the mic just attached to the headlining by the interior light. Wiring for both these is tucked in between where the windscreen and headlining meet, and runs down the left pillar. How it gets from the bottom of the pillar to behind the glovebox passed me by!!

Hope some of this is helpful :D

Kit's working great for me, new control button works well (adjusting volume, starting/ending calls etc) and I like not being forced to put the phone in the cradle, if it's a short journey for example.

Have fun.

Steve

Oh, and don't forget to factor in the Nokia antenna booster that you'll need with the 15s. Costs about the same as the holder itself (
