Retrofit MDI - does it come to bits?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I was looking at mdis as they now seem to be on ebay for around the £30/40 mark

As the car doesn't have the centre armrest and i don't want to fill up the glovebox i assume the mdi itself can be removed from the plastic din sized space it comes in.

Can anyone confirm this?

In theory it can, but many have struggled.

Does that price include any cables from the head unit to the MDI or MDI to the phone / hard drive?

seen afew that were mdi & usb/ipod cable

although i now realise there is a wiring loom they dont seem to include so will probably live with the aux port

Yes it does come out, I used a large flat-blade screw-driver on mine. The HU-->MDI cable is long enough to place the MDI unit under the passenger seat too ;) ;)

Again I can confirm they come out.

Does anyone know the part number for the bracket to be used under the console on a Superb?
