Hi guys, have had a quick look around and seems like a knowledgeable forum which I can learn loads from. Have had a MK4 Golf and a Leon Cupra R from the VAG stable before, but the Octavia is my first foray into Skoda. So far so good (except how terrible are the lights on these things??)

Factory fitted? I may need to go down HiD upgrade route... I seriously thought they were not working, had to get out the car and look! But then I have been used to Xenons on the new Civic and HiD's on my Leon... :p

Yeah mine were factory fit Xenons.

There's many on here that have very sucessfully upgraded bulbs without going as far as HID - you need to be careful of tripping some fault codes with the wrong bulbs. Sometimes with the right bulbs you need to get them coded which someone with VCDS will do for a couple of beer tokens

Hmmm thanks. I tried some uprated bulbs off eBay but not much difference and they didn't last long. I'll look into it though

Hi subzero. I bought some bulbs off ebay , bosh and when I took them out and put the old oe ones back the light meter I had showed the output was the same-I used to be a keen a photographer...so I wondering if we were sold fakes. Has anyone else upgraded to bosh bulds. If so which and did u see any difference. Cheers
