Best Wax for Black Fabia

Featured Replies

Right guys

None of my new toys have arrived so I am thinking about giving the girl a proper clean

Does anyone have any suggests on the best polish?

First of all, nice location your from, I used to live around that part of the world.........;)

Secondly, are you looking to polish your car or wax it as those items are two very different things?

There is no single best product that is specific to Black and there will always be people who have specific opinions on what product they prefer but the key to a quality depth of gloss and shine is down the preparation.

If you have the products then you will need to ensure you clean and de-contaminate the paintwork, clay the car, machine or hand polish the car and then apply a wax or sealant.

Do you have any polish or waxes already?

Thanks its ok but rubbish for photo shoots L

I am not sure which is the best J I have only ever sued a hose and water lol

I have the normal Auto Glym Products!

Well if your looking to use what you have then go with AG SRP followed by some AG EGP, assuming you have those products?

I'm happy to buy new products :) I dont think I have any auto wax and the only polish is show polish which you spray on at the show!

Well I am guessing that your not going to go down the Machine Polishing route and will do all your work by hand, if that's the case then you'd be best of investing in some of the following items:

Clay Bar and Quik Detailer (to prep the paint once it's clean) - You can source a Megs Kit from Halfords or source some Bilt Hamber Clay (Agressive, Medium or Soft) and you can use water as lube:

Glaze - Something like Black Hole will be good for your paintwork as it will cleanse and lightly fill some swirls:

Wax - You can get whatever your budget is on this one, there are plenty on the market but some key durable options are Collinite 4762 or FK1000P:

The Megs Clay Kit is a good starter kit and you will find it does what you will want it to do well...........:)

Again the Simonz is a well regarded Wax and you will get some good results with it.

Glaze wise, Halfords don't really stock something similar so you would be looking at trying something like AG SRP or a Megs Polish:

I have the Megs Clay Kit and Bilt Hamber is a lot better for beginners as you can lubricate it with water.

Bilt Hamber (3 grades from soft to regular) is the best clay

Use with a shampoo and water solution for lubrication

Can you use that clay straight after you rinse, as the car is still wet?

Yes..I use the wash pad dunked in the wash/shampoo bucket in one hand, clay in the other
