I've got an annoying squeak since changing wheels!

Featured Replies

Here goes:

Last weekend I took off my vRS alloys and put on my winter wheels. They are 16" and the same spec as the spare wheel, this is the 3rd winter I've used them as used them on my old Octavia.

All week I've had an annoying squeak since changing them. It's difficult to tell where its coming from, guessing wheels/suspension and does seem to be worse on bumpy roads.

I didn't touch the pads, cleaned nothing........basically just wheel off and wheel on.

Any ideas? Would the suspension sit differently on the smaller wheels? How about the bigger tyre side wall being a softer ride? More movement?

And before anyone says it I don't think it's a mouse living in my wheel arch!

Have you had them on this car before?

They could be rubbing on the calipers.

Or maybe they need spacers.
