**** me!

It's gone down!

Still mad as a box of frogs though. Wife's current provider quoted about 100 quid more than last year, 750 quid, via confused dot com they quote only 550 quid. Phone them up, sorry we can't offer you the cheaper quote, wtf? So anyway, do more comparisons and someone else offers her 550 quid, add me as a named driver and it's down to 450 via them. thanks, we'll take it. Saving 300 quid on renewal.

I decide to get my quotes, I paid about 450 last year, 6yr NCB. Among the quotes, my wife's current "expensive" provider is 100 quid cheaper at 350 and her new "cheaper" provider, 200 quid cheaper for her and 300 quid cheaper when I got added offers me (no named drivers)...

£550!

i think the reason for that is the new cheaper prices are effectively offers for new customers, that don't apply for current customers. and you should always call up your old company and tell them you don't want to renew, as apparently in the small print it will often renew your policy automatically and charge you for the renewal quote which is often a lot more.

that is my understanding from what watchdog was saying on tv the other day!
