Which Coilovers?

Featured Replies

Having a dilema over which coilovers to get for my 06 VRS TFSI, i want the car to be lower but not loose all the comfort the car comes with from the factory.

But cant decide or find out which kits offer a nice ride without being crashy or over bouncy??

I thinks its between the following kits.

I have had the Weitecs on two cars previously and found them very good, but the AP's seem to get good reviews also.

thoughts please

Several guys on here have had AP's and I've heard nothing negative about them.

I chose the weitecs over AP's purely based on them being galvanised. Given that they are both KW brands I'd guess that the ride quality will be very similar.

I've done 70k miles on mine since they were fitted (late 2010 iirc) and I've been very impressed - for the money these are great. Not bouncy or crashy. Ride is firm and well damped but not harsh.

I'm going to go for bilsteins next for the adjustability but these are a lot more money.

HTH.

I've got ap's on n there comfort is better then oem, but the lower you go the firmer it gets. I've got mine quite low and when I took my mum out on a 400 mile round trip she said how comfy the car is, so they can't be that harsh. Another plus point is how much more planted the car feels on the motorway without making it a tiring drive.

I had the KW-1 Coilovers they where brilliant

I had Eibach coilovers on my Fabia, the ride was more comfortable running a 40mm drop than the standard suspension.
