leather seats?2007 SKODA OCTAVIA 1.9 TDI PD Elegance 5dr Diesel Estate

Featured Replies

Hi guys I was wondering why a elegance model had leather heated seats in?

Guy selling advised its between a elegance and Laurin & Klement

Could the original owner paid extra to have the leather seats?

the advertisement for the car was

2007 SKODA OCTAVIA 1.9 TDI PD Elegance 5dr Diesel Estate

has anyone got a link available to see what is and isn't available on different trim levels.

thank you in advance

I know they did a pretend L&K before the official L&K was released, this could be a glorified Elegance that Skoda UK specked as an L&K! :)

If the options are the same now as they were then yes-The current brochure shows leather as a FF option with heated fronts for £1515, but it's still an elegance as the L&K has loads more than just heated leather over the elegance.

I don't know what the difference was when the car was built but you should be able to find out if you really need to from one of the car price mags like Glasses guide, but I suspect it won't be much different than it is now.

if he's trying to compare it with an L&K he's taking the p&s! ;):giggle:

Most factory fit options add little or no value to the car, bit like a conservatory on a house- just makes them easier to sell, though leather may add some but probably not as much as if they were in a Beemer or Merc. If you want heated leather might be worth paying a little more, but no where near the extra an L&K would cost IMO e.g. L&K has ESC and xenons those alone are aother £1k as FF extras

An Elegace with the Leather option is not an L&K. Don't let the seller pull that one.........he's only saying that because of the premuim prices L&K's seem to attract.

It does make you wonder why you'd spend £1500 on an Elegance to have Leather.......The origional buyer could probably have had an L&K for another £1000 or so.

I have a 2006 estate and it has leather heated seats, so I guess it was on the options list. The heated seats are brilliant and well worth having.

I'd agree with this, even though mine arn't heated! Even with the heated seats the elegance is still £1500 short of the cost of an L&K - it may be 1/2 way there on cost but not on the spec IMO.

Very true.

There have been cases of earlier 'L&K' models being registered, having DVLA paperwork etc, but listed as an 'Elegance'.

But this one sounds like a cheeky seller really, trying to up-sell the car. You've gotta try I suppose :)

Have you got a link to the ad? As said there's other spec changes that mark the L&K out.

Our '06 L&K is branded as such and has heated leather seats as standard, Also photochromic dipping on the rear view mirrors - but Xenons were an option. not standard.

Xenon's became standard on the L&K sometime in 2007.

Mine has 'Laurin & Klement' badges on the side and embossed into the leather at the top of the backrest. And very nice it all is too. :)

Mine is a 2006MY L&K and has heated leather, memory seats, maxidot, auto dipping rear and wing mirrors, multi function steering wheel, L&K sill plates, tunnel lights.

Other than that it is the same as an elegance.

V5 lists it as a L&K, and mine is an early one that doesn't have Tendons from the factory.

Err, that should have read Xenons, what is it with spell checkers on mobiles!

Variable boot floor was standard on mine, as well as an alloy spare wheel.

Mines a '59. Ordinary spare, but variable floor, no xenons OEM. Does now.

I presumed they did a pov spec L&K for fleet sales. 105 bhp, tiny brakes or was this the mainstream model?

If its is just the seats, then could the seats have been swopped? Been known.

By tiny do you mean the 288mm fronts Nick? Not sure about other models but the 2.0TDI would have these.

Yep, the 2.0 TDI is 288mm front discs and 55mm front struts. The 1.9 has 50mm struts and smaller discs.

Mines a '59. Ordinary spare, but variable floor, no xenons OEM. Does now.

On a 2009 it either has xenon's or its not an L&K, or its an import.

Mines the pov spec 1.9 with xxxmm discs - the're in the shed, but its too cold, brr brrr.

well thats just one of my senior/lexdystia moments, its a '56 -

if six turned out to be nine, I don't mind Axis Bold as Love, JMH
