Help please guys!

Featured Replies

Just a newbie finding my feet. I discovered that my front windscreen washers aren't spraying this morning (they'd been fine before now). I think the hoses may have just popped off due to the weather. In my attempt to find out I'm trying to remove the scuttle cover (which doesn't want to move!) what's the best way to get this off please?! Also after this is sorted I'm going to inspect why the back one isn't spraying either (wasn't when I got the car).

Help much appreciated. Thanks.

Could b the motor on the washerbottle is faulty. I

I don't think it's that because the pump sounds like its doing its job. After a few seconds of holding the stalk then looking underneath I see a steady stream of screen wash and water from behind the drives front wheel :(

Which would mean that your problem is likely to be at the motor/bottle end. You should be able to release the arch liner enough to have a look.

Now discovered there's 2 leaks. Both from opposite sides of the car and near the back (towards windscreen)? Could this suggest the hoses from detached from the jets? The pump sounds normal though. Thanks.

There is a T joint near to the drivers's side washer jet. The chances are this will have popped off because the fan jets themselves froze up. This happened on my car one evening. Water dribbled out from the back of the front drivers side wheel arch liner cover.

Try warming the cover up with a hair drier first as they become quite brittle in colder temps and then pull it up at 90 degress to the windscreen. If you have thin hands you might be able to slip them in and feel where the joint in the pipework has parted company.

Thanks for your help guys this has now been sorted. The pipe had just blown apart at a connection just under the scuttle cover. The back one had just came off the jet part under the boot cover. Thanks again for the help :D
