Non OEM alloys - VW/Audi style - Any known quality issues ?

Featured Replies

I've been looking around for some aftermarket alloys for my mk2 VRS and like the styles of the Audi RS4, RS6 and BBS alloys. Now obviously original audi ones are pricey and harder to source, but audi replicas are readily available and cheaper. The quality won't be to VAG standards but has anyone had any experiences with these before ? are they any good ? too heavy, buckle easy, poor quality.

Now I know you only get what you pay for but are the originals worth the extra money

Aftermarket replica's are often heavier adding to the unsprung weight of the car. Multiply a few extra kilo's by the four wheels and that's some considerable weight.

I had some replica's on my BMW 320d, they were pretty good quality, although they did loose their shine after a few years, I think the laquer was pretty thin.
