New Spare wheel Retrofit

Featured Replies

This afternoon Jana had the spare wheel retrofit I purchased that was kindly fitted free by Fish Brothers Swindon as a gesture of good will for the incorrect wheel nut initially provided. A clean job done in 10 minutes or so. They went though all the new parts and how it fitted together with me along with where everything was (the jack, Towing eye etc). A top job and very courteous.

OK I have lost a little in depth to the boot but the new trays surrounding the wheel mean that the odments that I'd stuff in the nets now nestle under the floor. The side net and rear seat net can also be used although the cargo area net may be used would be fiddly to fasten and undo. The big plus though is that the rear seat backs can be folded giving a near flat loading space where as before they would need to be tumbled or removed to get the same.

Jana is very happy now that she can get home should she loose one of her heals when she's out and about. If I need the extra depth the swap back to the original spec is easily done.

I've got it down to about 10 minutes.....

I'd say that's about right. make sure to keep all the bits to transfer to your next Yeti!

Have the studs that the screws go into in the back of the lower underfloor boxes broken yet? Mine have (for the second time) - ok they re only 30p a set, but I've now drilled right through the bushes and am using 6mm bolts & penny washers instead! Much more secure, but the originals are a piece of poor design!
