Felly Bonnet problems..

Featured Replies

Hullo all... After a quick search through couln't find quite my problem.. Just replaced Thermostat, closed bonnet and went for a spin.. got back , went to open bonnet to check for leaks..and bonnet release ok,, but the button at the front of the grille will not pop out, so can't open the bonnet.. Any ideas good people??? it's a facelift 1.3 Felly..

Yeah it happens, just use a pair of pliers on it... Probably just needs a bit of grease to free it up.

Can't get to the button at all.. (the button that is supposed to pop out the front grill that you push back in to open the bonnet fully) it now stays in. I can pull the release inside the car and the bonnet opens to first stage no problem. Just the final release button does not pop out any more.. was working fine, as I'd literally just opened it to replace the thermostat..

I take it you can still see the lever? Try hooking it with a metal coat-hanger ;)

I'll try again tomorrow, coat hangers, pliers.. Screwdrivers... what ever it takes.. Typical, just sort one thing out... and something else goes belly up..

Riiiiight... Couldn't get pliers ito the gap, so managed to hook the Button/lever with a flat screwdriver.. the button slid out.. all the way.onto the floor. The plastic circular clip that holds it into the catch had pretty much disintergrated.

Managed to shape the blade of an old long thin screwdriver to more or less match the now useless Botton/lever and pushed that through the lever hole. Presto ..open bonnet. I'll need a new Button/lever, but at least I now have a bonnet opening tool for the meantime.
