Internet Explorer window size

Featured Replies

I just resized an IE window so I could read two windows side-by-side, and now every time a new window pops up automatically (like when clicking on a link in a thread), it comes up in the size I resized the previous one too, which is smaller than I want. If I resize that back to a larger size, the next one reverts to a smaller size again.

Anyone know how to get all the new windows up in a larger size? Probably something really basic...

Argh - seems to have miraculously cured itself :-/

According to my research, resizing Windows is a "live with it" thingy. The best I have come up with, from searches, is to resize the window using the diagonal drag-arrow option, then close by using File Exit, rather than the X-close box, then a re-start. This needs to be done more than once to be effective, and even then doesn't always work depending on (who knows what?).

Can you not just do a Restore, or Goback (whatever) to before you changed the settings?

Certainly seems rather haphazard in my experience too! I think I'll just try and leave it as is at the moment, and next time I want to read two pages side-by-side, I'll print them out!

Glad you've got it sorted. It does seem to be a perennial problem. 'Course there are many on the Forum, so I will happily be watching out :)

As far as I can remember it opens at the size of the last non-maximised window so if you have it small and just maximise it you'll get it small next time.

Stretch the window and it should cure it the next time it happens.

pooters annoying me at the moment, whenever i open a new window it opens strectched as big as it goes but not maximised. its a stupid little thing but it annoys the hell out of me. why doesn't it open the new windows maximised seeing as i always maximise the window
