Has anyone ever had.....

..... Both m8 bolts shear on the dogbone mount where it bolts to cross member?

AND the mount still be in place?

It has been like this since ive owned it! (4 months)

Im guessing its corroded itself on?

Finally sourced all parts. 2nd hand dogbone, powerflex red bush and powerflex front bush. New bolts etc! Going to have a go on saturday! Will probably have to smash the old dogbone to get it off (hence the 2nd hand dogbone)

Tactic for getting sheared bolts out is a can of wd40 and the 2 nut method!

However i just cant understand how its still on :o

[this is on my leon - same setup as the octy. Asking here as seat cupra net is rubbish]. :)

Where have the bolts sheard off near the head or close to the subframe as from memory there not threaded full length altho i might be wrong

Right at the head by the looks of it....

I think they are threaded the whole way. Will try a set of mini stillsons on it if i cant get the nuts on! Surely cant be that hard to get 2 m8 bolts out! Or at least i hope not

I would slide the dogbone off the remaining thread and spray them with WD and leave it to soak in for a while, carn't say am a big fan of removing seized bolts,

Sometimes i find a little heat helps aswell even if its only one of them little butane bottle things from a DIY shop, (try the heat thing first as WD catchs fire quiet well)

Honestly ive whacked the dogbone with a mallet and it wont budge!

Might have to get the dremel out :o

Im hoping it comes out once i have the mount off and can get it nice and oiled up!

:)
