Hi All

Hit a pheasant today and wrecked the front grille. Are all the grilles the same for the FL Octavias? I want to try and get one from a scrappy. I just need to get a VRS badge.

Anyone know what scrappy I can get a grille from or is there anywhere else?

Black vertical ribs on right hand side of grille are broken off and there is a crack on the top edge of the the grille surround. If crack can be repaired, could maybe replace ribs with this:

Any thoughts or has anyone used one of these?

The front grilles are the same as non vrs models, I bought my spare grille, surround and badges from my local dealer. Not a an of the superskoda one though.

Unfortunately didnt get the bird for the pot. Couldnt stop at the time :-)

I have put a request in to the scrappies online forms. Hopefully a grille will turn up soon. Original was colour coded so will need to get that done again.

Father-in-law clipped a Roe Deer the other month that did a fair bit of damage.

I hit a badger on the Wrexham Bypass about 10 years ago in a hired Fiat Stilo (don't ask) - made a horrendous mess of the car, grill, bumper, radiator, A/C pipework, Power Steering reservoir, screen wash reservoir. The badger on the other hand ran off up the embankment!

Tell me about it. I was on a dual carriageway a few weeks ago when a Pheasant appeared from the near side verge. I thought it might stop or turn around or something........but it kept coming, and as I was doing 75 mph and the road was damp, I was in no mood to swerve.

It walked straight into the front corner of the bumper and made contact with it's head. I thought the fog light might have taken the hit, but it must have just hit the plastic bumper section as there was actually no damage. It's was surprising how big an impact it was for a relatively small animal. Needless to say it didn't walk away.

It was lucky the blighter was on foot and not flying, or I too might have been looking for a new grille.....and I'd have been picking bits of the bird out of the radiator for weeks.

Any ideas where I can pick a grille up? Got a response from a scrappy but they want 84 quid for one but I dont know what condition its in.

Our grille has thick black vertical ribs on it. Are they all the same? I will be getting the surround colour coded (race blue) again.

The chrome surround is 46.95 + vat from the dealer the black insert is around £28 if I remember correctly the skoda badge is £12.95 + vat and vrs badge is £8.33 + vat all from a dealer. All grilles are the same on the facelift just make sure they don't give you the pre facelift version

Sounds like the scrappies are trying to pull a fast one. I just assumed the dealers would be extortionate. I will contact the dealer and get the stuff ordered up.
