Featured Replies

Swmbo has a laptop at the moment which is just starting to get all the old age problems that go with it so thinking of getting this

Has anyone tried/got/use one...are they any good....she mostly uses the net facebook etc and it looks to be ideal...any thoughts or ideas welcome

Wife has the previous Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (higher spec if you can find one).

Very good for pretty much anything she needs to do from games to Web browsing. She isn't interested in tech but finds it really simple to use

It's OK but to be honest I'd splash a bit extra cash and get 4 x the memory with the Google Nexus 7

was also looking at the same tablet with an upgrade 32 gb sd card upgrade for £183.99 special offer at argos...( have a £100 gift card for Argos ..so thats the reason for buying there)

My Dad has a Nexus 7 and loves it.

Tablet are not a replacement for a laptop so think about how you'll use it. If you need to type a significant amount then you'd be best sticking with a laptop. If you just want to surf the net and go on facebook then a tablet will probably be the right choice.

Facebook and the odd bit on the net is all it will get used for ...probably will be perfect...once we get her past the "I can't use that" stage :rock:

I've not long treated myself to the nexus 7 and its great, no substitute for a laptop or full pc however that being said you can now buy Bluetooth keyboards etc so if its just a odd document or email then it's perfect. The battery lasts about a solid day if using and you can have multible accounts etc. full use of google store. In my opinion the nexus 7 is just about ideal as its small enough to carry about and powerful enough to use with a dirt cheap price tag already.

Sorry I've not used the Samsung but have not heard anything bad eigther.

Definitely think the Nexus 7 is a good bet instead as more powerful and more future proof.

I use the nexus 7 at work - don't carry a laptop any more, just the nexus 7 and a bluetooth keyboard

Also although it doesn't have sd storage etc you can get a micro USB to USB adaptor to run films etc off a memory stick and that's before you start using Dropbox etc for backups and storage.

I got my nexus from Argos, I've since seen Carphone warehouse sell them about £20 less than anywhere else.

Got a Nexus 7 as a house tablet mainly for my parents to search for something when they needed to. Much easier and convenient than a laptop. I knew if I got them a laptop it would stay in the box and rarely booted up. Bit gutted I got the 16GB then they release the 32Gb with a few weeks for the same price but it's still great. Only used half the space so far and I could easily save more if I wanted. Parents use it al the time. Sometimes they get stuck but this is normally because of popups on websites as they've never dealt with them before

Nexus 7 is £179 at the moment after a price match with cpw.

I think there's some argos discount codes on hotukdeals too.
