Rear taillight bulb confusion

Featured Replies

One of my taillight bulbs has blown in the C formation. It's the one just under the brake light. Looking up on Autobulbs website they list it as being a 21/4w bulb which is the same as the stop and tail. Is this correct as its only a side light and not a brake light too?

Thanks

Paul

Just changed both mine today ,

put in the same as I took out they were both the same as a stop & taillight bulb, 50p each :-)

It usually says what type of bulb on the bulb holder.

It seems strange that they use a dual filament bulb just for a single taillight.

Yes......But doesn't it double up as a fog light?

Who cares there 50p! Just put one in

You need a W3W, single filament...

The little W3W's aren't part of the main bulb holder and are dead easy to change.

Open the carpet flap in the boot and simply pull the bulb holders out of the cluster, make sure you pull the plastic holder and don't be tempted to pull the wire instead.

You can see them dangling here on mine...
