They were most likely registered as something else with the Dvla.

There'll be plenty more 1.8 Tsi in other trims on the road.

The L&K in general is not very common.

Feel a cut above the rest

Most parts are common across something in the VAG range so dont worry to much

It also suggests there are only 50 blacklines though, and we know that the real figure is at least ten times that. That said, it depends if it has Q4 on yet - could be an interesting way to finally find out a minimum number for how many there are (albeit we won't know for another 3-6 months depending on how long it takes to update and the chances are that nobody will care by then).

I'm sure that my L&K was registered as an Elegance, that is to say that's what the DVLA said it was and that's what I ordered, but when the order got delayed, they changed "my" car for an available L&K. It seemed to fit that "my" registration documents said it was an Elegance, but also shouldn't have, as it was registered before it became "my" car...so maybe that's why?

Or maybe everyone bought them with different engines?

My Fabia manual says VW will make/supply parts until at least 10 years after production has ceased. I think my relatives' Octavia says the same, and guess it's still the case ...
