Cheers, will get in touch with them.

I live in Dudley now and although the nearest Skoda dealer I think is Stourbridge (and the fact that I have used a main dealer in the past), would like someone a bit closer to home. Thanks.

Hi,

I have taken my Skoda Octavia to an independent garage (VW rescue) to have the car MOT'd and there is an issue with the full beam light on the passenger side.

The light came on the dash board last week and said about the beam being defective.

The garage that has tried to fix it has taken out the old bulb and replaced it with a new one but still doesn't work. The bulb in the passenger side was then put in the

drivers side and it worked. The bulb that was in the drivers side was then put in the passenger side which didn't work.

Now, the garage involved have looked at a few things, had the diagnostics on the car and the fault is there but everything they have tried they cannot

get the light to work.

Do you know if there is any possible reason why one bulb won't flash whilst the driver side works?

My car has failed its MOT which is now expired, my tax is due the end of the month and the garage don't know what to do.

The fault is in the passanger side light cluster?

Yes. I have been in contact with skoda at Stourbridge who of course asked me to take the car in and they will put it on the diagnostics for £42.

The problem I have is that for the first time, i have used an independent, have to pay them money for trying to sort it.......maybe going to a main dealer is the best option.

I picked up my car yesterday and some bits that failed the mot have been done apart from the high beam issue.

After speaking to the guy, they tried everything when it was hooked up to the drivers side and it all worked, so it's clearly something further back, maybe wiring or a fuse (no clue), but they have given me all the diagnostics print out wth the details on it so I can take it to skoda dealer at stourbridge to see if they can help.

Can anyone recommend the best way to deal with this? Am I better off just turning up to speak to someone?
