It´s an easy solution:

Köny is right. It's also compatible with other Jeep models from the late 80s.

I have never seen that Vanette in my life, but if that helps the european members on this forum (of which there are many) then that's great.

If you can't find the Vanette (or a Renault 9 or 11) near you in Europe, you're not trying!

I don't know if Skoda still supports these old cars in terms of spares but there are a load of them still around in Eastern Europe. I am really surprised you guys are having difficulty having trouble locating spares. There was a guy on here called Skofast who is a Brit living in Czech but he seems to have disappeared. He was very good at locating parts over there :(

Here's another question.

The fuel pump I got was designed to be in the fuel tank, and the fuel intake diameter of this one is significantly larger than the original one.

How do I adapt the new fuel pump to the small diameter of the older pump?

Strange nobody has come back to you. I would try to pm Daverapid of maybe Ouvreur as they are practical guys and should know more :)

Are you kidding?

Skoda's support for these cars ended around 1994 and since then it's impossible to find any specific part for fuel injected cars like 135GLi or 135RiC.

No idea.:(

Would that pump be the same as the Renault 9 in Europe which is what the Renault Alliance is in effect? And also what engine would if be from? If it is the 1397cc engine that was fitted in loads of cars from the 5 upwards.

I got a Spectra equivalent to the airfix e7001 which is also for fuel tank use.

Yes, the Alliance is your Renault 9 and I got the pump for the 1.4 Liter engine.

Just got news from my mechanic. The fuel pump is not compatible at all. I don't know why this is listed as an equivalent component on skoda135gli.tk and this website. It does not work. My mechanic ordered a universal fuel pump to put an end to this nonsense.

It does sound like a song and dance that you are having. I hope that it works out ok :(

How is it going?

My Walbro is also dead...

By the way, Airtex e7001 must be OK to replace Walbro.

The Airtex e7001 is a fuel pump for Renaults and Jeeps of the 80s with the pump in the fuel tank. This is not the case with my 135 GLi, it is totally external. My mechanic tried adapting the pump but it just pi5sed out fuel.

:drunk: I haven't forgotten this by the way, I tried my second hand pump but it was useless. Once I've found something I shall post it up.

What's the problem? Has he told you about that? Is there an issue with the connectivity at the "In" end?

Patrick, we could finally mend the Walbro. It was full of rust. Now it works and so does my Rapid RiC.

Did you manage to repair yours?
