Boiling/bubbling noise on shutdown?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've noticed that when i turn the engine off, there's a bubbling noise that comes from the direction of the passenger side dash.

I'm guessing it's coming from the engine rather than the dashboard itself, just wondered if that was normal?

Cheers,

Dez (PD130)

Hi mate not sure exactly what you mean ? but mine often does that as well and has done it when actually driving

And i was told that it has do do with the climatronic heating / ac and is nowt to worry about

Something behind the glove box if i remember correctly

Most likely it'll be aircon refrigerant recycling through the evaporator on shutdown. Nothing to worry about; often means the refrigerant level is getting a bit low.

My mkI Octvia did this, it was something to do with the climatronic system.

Good stuff, thanks all

I'll probably get it regassed once the weather warms up a bit, no point topping up the refridgerant when it's frikkin freezing outside!
