Airbag warning light

Featured Replies

Hi,

Having the common airbag warning light on my '06 Octavia vrs, I've spent a few hours reading through all the other airbg warning topics, which I followed and hardwired the wires under the passenger seat. Twice now I've had the warning light come back after the repair. The first time I was sitting in the drivers seat with the engine running and no one in the passenger seat (it is also very rarely moved back and forth)

The fault code that was stored after this was: 01218 side airbag igniter passenger side (n200) upper limit reached intermittent.

I had checked my repair and re-taped it and had the fault cleared. A few weeks later while driving with no-one again in the passenger seat, the fault code appeared. I've yet to get the fault code checked to confirm if it is the same as the previous incident. But what are my options/next step to take if it is the same?

I've been informed by Skoda that the passenger seat airbag module has been changed a few years ago. Are these common to fail aswell?

Thanks for your time.

I have had the same problem, but in my case when cleaned wire connector the error disappeared.

Did you check both connectors?

1. On the floor (inside plastic box) ----> it was my fault

2. Below the seat near seat lever bar ----> it was not present on my O2, but maybe it was fixed by previous owner

Good luck.

The plugs at both locations you described have been removed and hard wired. I inspected both repairs and re-taped them. Is there potential for damage of the wiring further along the loom?

Can anyone else shed some light on my problem?

It's come back again after having it cleared and it is the exact same fault code. I had it cleared and then moved the seat backwards and forwards several times, even gave it a thump in a few places and it never came back with the engine running.

It came back, while driving the car and nobody in the passenger seat.

Is there anywhere else to check the airbag loom for known damage?
