Armrest rattle

Featured Replies

There's a rattle in the top of my armrest, the part that slides and hinges up, where you rest your arm. It's only at idle and sometimes when pulling off.

It stops if I press lightly on top of it. I imagine it's the two arms that it hinges on, hitting off the sides of the top part where they pass into it

Does anybody have any ideas on fixing this?

Mine does it too. I lift it into the first 'click' position up and that stops it.

Cheers WRC,

Unfortunately that doesnt work on mine!

anyone ever take these apart?

I have changed the upper cushion part of these. I haven't taken apart the hinge mechanism. I know it has a spring mechanism, that if you accidentally press on the armrest while it's in first/second/third position, it will allow to take the heat of the hinges (so you don't brake it).

I had kind of same problem and basically the problem is in the connection from metal plate to plastic plate cushion part. It needs some insulation between them.

Raise the armrest plate, remove the lower cover (it's pressed inside with "snaps") by putting something sharp between it and firmly remove the cover. Then you will see, what I mean about the metal plate and cushion.

Thanks for the info. If someone is trying this, can he add foto's to this topic. I would like to see how to remove the armrest cover without braking it. Where are the snaps located..
