Just a quick message to say "hello" to all the members on this forum/community.

I bought my 11 Octavia 1.6 TDI with 12K on the clock a few days ago, and after a 200 mile round trip to see my gal, I'm very very happy I made the decision to buy her, the car that is, not my girlfriend !!

I even let her have a drive, after 40 miles of B road bashing she gave it a big thumbs up, saying it was smooth, comfortable, fast, and very well made.

I really love the car so far, it blew away the 1.8 Mondeo I had previously test driven, and left my Peugeot 206 looking very shabby and poorly made.

The car has a high spec for the cash, bluetooth, satnav,fantastic sound system ( just put 16 gigs of music on a SD card ), and I really like the reversing thing that comes up on the screen. All this and only 30 quid road tax!!

Looking forward to long journeys now

Good to hear you're happy with your Octavia- I was like you very pleased with my 1st Octy, so much so I bought another 12 months later..... Out of interest most of the things you mention were not standard fit on an SE so were they FF optional extra the previous owner had and you've got the columbus sat nav or is it the SE+ with the Amundsen- I suspect the latter because I had the TSI variant but I could be wrong.... which isn't unknown

Littleade, I have the Amundsen + unit fitted, and rear parking sensors, so I'm thinking its a SE plus I've got. Which makes you right

As for modding...I've already taken a huge step by fitting a blanking cap for the ciggy lighter , but i'm arm rest curious at the moment, any suggestions on a good after market unit would be appreciated.
