hi guys normally i dont ask many questions but im bit stumped, was having a few map sensor probs so i bought a new one.

however i just assumed they were all the same so i bought the one in the link. can you tell if its right? if not can you point me in the right direction. reason i ask is the car only did 141bhp on the LG and was dog slow and gave me two codes

17705

16490

the DV isint chirping like it should, i have a fleebay dv and cai fitted, changed to a foam filter today so i thought that was muffling the sound but i guess not. ill check that 2moro anyway but im guess thiers a dv prob!

also on the LG i did 13.7psi seems well to high for a std map

hope that makes sense

cheers peeps

I think 17705 is a air leak fault. I only know of a few different sensors. Petrol 1.8t has a 2.5 bar sensor and diesel 130 engines have a 3 bar sensor. They come with different diameter ends. 10mm and 12mm I think. I'm running the 10mm diesel one in my vrs. This allows me to over boost slightly (12psi) til I can afford a remap.

:giggle: well i cant be 100% sure if im honest, refitted the original map sensor after a good clean, thats cleared that code.

thier was the turbo pressure loss code(something along that line) the ebay cai was pulling on the tip and had squashed it right down to almost nothing!

so played with it abit and then put the filter straight on the maf. took the dv off checked all its pipe work all seemed fine.

back running sweet and at 11.2psi so see how we go  it was weird driving it had no dv noise no turbo power but a crazy loud whistle from the turbo. :wonder:

Sounds like a leaky pipe somewhere. thanks for updating

the relocation was slightly loose but still on so may well of been that. found lots of little things didnt find one big fault that i can say was the cause.

just out of interested does anyone know if the sensor in my link is for a vrs, they looked the same other than ones Bosch and the other has that mega cheap feel to it

cheers
