Electric Windows - Mind of their own

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 estate which is slowly developing what can best be referred to as 'characteristics'.

One of which is that when opening or closing elec windows using the buttons on drivers' door I find that if I activate a second window then the first one will stop or close itself.

Any ideas - I am getting quite annoyed by it.

(cruise control query to follow aswell....)

Possible battery issue?? Might explain some of your other 'characteristics'. When mine was going, the car displayed all sorts of strange behaviour, including window issues.

thx adamal. Any idea how you know if your battery is 'going' or how you test it?

There's an indicator on them usually. The colour will be amber or similar if failing. Check before and after a run, as if its recharging fine it will turn black or similar after the run. Better still hook it up to a charger and they usually have a tester built in, much more reliable indicator. Car parts operations will usually test for you too.
