New Fabia RS just days away :)

Featured Replies

Greetings all,

As the topic implies, I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new Fabia RS hatch within the next week or so.

I'm in Newcastle... Australia :) but thought it would be great to get involved here as there seems a lot of nice threads on mods and such. Plus there's been fewer than 300 of these sold in 'OZ', which means not much of a community to share ideas etc with.

My RS will be a Hatch in Brilliant Silver with Black roof and the standard Silver wheels, plus MDI option.

I see it as somewhat of a downgrade from my MY11 WRX, but I need to free up some funds for a business strategy I'm implementing... and maybe a little travel. With the exchange I clear around $15K and still have a fun little ride to get around in.

I have a couple of small visual and performance mods planned for the short to medium term, and will be sure to post some pics etc as it progresses.

Will be my first car without a clutch pedal in close to twenty years, but I must say I was pretty impressed with the DSG when I test drove. Would have still opted for a manual if it was offered though.

Looking forward to participating in a new 'community' after having three Subaru's previously.

Cheers!

HI, and welcome to briskoda, we have another from oz with a fabia vRS ;) and a few who have come from the WRX! just mind you can still get to 60 in circa 5.3 seconds with a tuning box or remap ;)

as for the DGS, trust me, when you have racked up a few thousand miles, and are hooning down your favorite back road, flicking the left paddle down the gears as you approach a corner, "blipping" it towards 7k... then howling out the other side, blipping up with the right paddle... you will never look back ;)

enjoy your new car :)

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome gents.

Not long to go now. Fortunately I took a deposit on my WRX today, netting me an extra grand to play with. Should hand over the keys on Fri and pick up the Fabia on Mon or Tue. So a pretty tidy changeover :)

Then I'll have to work out how to upload pics onto the forum so I can show the before pics.. and progress pics as I personalize the new toy!

Welcome to Briskoda.

The little Fabia vRS ( even the MK1 Diesel) has been quite a popular choice with quite a few ex- WRX & CTR owners ( along with the Octy version), in the past due to its overall running costs & fun factor given its relative small size.

Dont forget to tell us what you think after you have had the car a couple of weeks.

I will follow your changes with interest once you get it and start work.

Waiting for some updates on this Build.

Might be of interest to you.

Hey all...

So I dropped into the dealer this morning to give them my green slip ready to register the car when it arrives.... literally 30 seconds after I arrived the truck carrying my Fabia to the dealer arrived too smile.png

See links below for a couple of quick pics from the iPhone. It's sitting pretty high because of the transport blocks they use in the springs, a little grubby, and needs a few accessory finishing touches to look complete.

Gotta say though, having not seen this colour in the flesh I was a little concerned the car could look quite understated, however I'm really happy with it and excited to see how it will look once I've made it a little more unique smile.png

Looks like a Mon or Tue collection for sure now!

Have fun when you collect it.
