Mk1 Vrs going - Monte Carlo coming...

Featured Replies

Finally a good offer from a dealer...one that we are content with after seeking advice here on line; the deal includes satnav & a spare wheel & changing kit.

(Thanks guys for advice on the sort of price to aim for!) I believe that the Mk1 Vrs in good order - unspoilt, is becoming a motoring classic and worth hanging onto if you have garage space & money to invest?) (25% depreciation over 5 years from new seems to indicate as such?)

(1) All I have to do now is source alloys & winter tyres. Anybody put Fabia Mk2 15" alloys on a Monte Carlo?

(2) Is this the way to go, or can I locate equally good alloys at a better price elsewhere..??

(3) Where is the best deal for winter tyres of reputable manufacture...? Somebody must be running an MC on winter rubber?

(4) Finally Folks, I know that the Fabia satnav is not the most comprehensive around but, I believe that it comes with bluetooth....does that mean that we may be able to run our HTC & Samsung cell phones?

I have never been able to run a phone in my Superb...it appears that what ever I'm running is not compatable with the car...

Safe driving,

TDM.

15" Skoda alloys and winters on a Monte;

Skoda 'Line' alloys with Avon ST 195/55 winters.

Expensive route but wanted to use factory alloys rather an after-market or steel rim alternatives and were planning on keeping the car a while, so they should get good use every 5 months of a year.

same wheel and tyre spec as the vRS, I have changed to 205/45/17 tyres for winter , in (good performing) nangkang SV2's at about £70 a corner, available from openeo , camskill, ebay ect ect , I go back to 205/40/17's for the summer :)

BUT as ^^ above for other sizes, if insurance gives jyp for other size wheels, 205/40/17 winters are available from openeo for about £69 ;) will go on the OE wheels :)

enjoy youe new car :)

I got a new TSI 105 with satnav and maxidot but I think you additionally need "GSM 2 phone preparation" to make the whole thing work. This was a £240 option when I ordered in Nov.

It works great with voice (never tried this) and fingertip control on stalk and MFSW. Calls and phone book etc appear in the maxidot screen. A nice setup.
