Can it be replaced? If so, how? Found my split pipe, but broke the rubbish tube.

This is common apparently! They get brittle with age.

They just pull off and the new one clicks back on.

Metal ones are available but they are expensive for what they are.

It's snapped in three places?

Tiny piece in the bottom feels like it's welded in.

It comes off alright just be careful not to let bits of it go down the hole into the sump. I had to use a hammer and chisel to get the bottom bit of mine off.

New ones are dirt cheap from dealers

Try to block the sump using a rag in a ball on the end of a bit of wire leave it in until you've taken off all the orange plastic. My one was really crumbly and I ended up having to take the sump off for fear that I had dropped bits into it.

I did hear that they are designed to break down in oil.

Dunno how true that actually is but could give some reason why they go brittle in the first place.

When you get a new one make sure its pushed until it clicks into place.

I did this on mine. For a tempory bodge, until I got a replacement tube, I slipped a large bit of heatshrink around it.

I've bodged a bit a old pipe I had indoors over the hole, taped the bottom, and put the dipstick in that. Will have to get a new one tomorrow, hope they're not too expensive. Found my air leak at least though haha .

I'll just get one from the dealers, saves the time .

I got 2 after it didn't come after 5 days, just complained and the original one came the day after and another one the day after that lol

One of the two plastic locating lugs has just cracked of my dipstick

Half has travelled down to the sump

The other half cracked into tiny pieces when I took it off

oil channel blocking size :(

The pick up pipe strainer will stop it so don't worry
