Superb 2.5 v6 tdi vibration through pedals and gearstick

Featured Replies

Hi all i am new to all this but will try my best.my car is the mark 1 superb 2003 with 80000 on the clock, the I've started to notice a vibration through. The pedals and gearstick. But only when moving also does it when coasting in neutral any advice appreciated

Is the steering wheel also shaking? sometimes an unbalanced front wheel and/or sawtooth worn tyres pumped up high can produce vibration in most of front.

Failing that,

Clutch problem? Weak release bearings were one problem.

Gearbox would be next to suspect, but they do not break that often.

These 2.5 tdi engines have active vibration dampers (engine mounts)... they are activated (electrically) when the engine is idling and vehicle speed is 0.

Therefore, if this was to malfunction then more vibration would be felt.

Also worth checking cylinder fuel balancing in VCDS to see if one is off the norm as the ECU is trying to keep a stable idle rpm. This could indicate a dodgy injector, though it would be unusual for such a low mileage.
