Cruise Control / MF Steering Wheel on 2012 Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi,

Newbie to Skoda/VAG range, Hope the experts on here can confirm I am on the right track and advise on the settings required.

Just purchased a 2012 1.6 CR TDI Octavia, Could not locate the precise spec that I wanted, so I have now fitted cruise control stalks and multi function steering wheel.

Parts concerned are :-

Steering wheel 3T0419091JE74

Steering column switch with cruise control 5K0 953 502 N

Existing Steering Wheel Control Module was 5K0 953 569 C, unchanged.

I believe that this is a compatible set of parts, can anyone confirm that ?

Main Questions:

1 Which settings on what unit are required to activate the cruise switch ?

2 An amber steering wheel warning is now displayed on the dash, MF buttons plus horn are inoperable, are more settings required to accommodate the new steering wheel ?

I plan to change the settings via VCDS, my cable and software just arrived.

many thanks in advance, this looks like a great community forum !

Your steering controller doesn't support MFSW

you would need a highend one

The steering module needs coding as does the engine for cruise

I was had something similar in an A4. Sounded like a Bic pen had somehow found its way down the plastic air vent under the passenger seat. Sounded exactly like a Bic pen in a plastic tube. Did my head in, when you braked, turned or accelerated you would here it roll.

Solution was to cram a small diameter of pipe insulation foam into the vent and jam the pen.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Based upon that advice, I have now sourced a Steering Wheel Control Module was 5K0953569T ( highline unit which supports MFSW and cruise).

Have also found the info on activating cruise on the above unit. How do I code the engine for cruise ?

?Remaining question then, is how to incorporate the new ""T" SWCM, i guess that will require matching up with the rest of the car system ?

once again, many thanks in advance

I want to change my Steering Wheel Control Module 5K0 953 569 C for one ending on T so that I can fit a multi function wheel and cruise control.

I think I have the details of how to change codes for the wheel and cruise, but what will I need to do to incorporate the new SWCM ?. Match it to ECU maybe ?.

Parts fitment will be:-

Steering wheel 3T0419091JE74

Steering column switch with cruise control 5K0 953 502 N

Steering Wheel Control Module 5K0 953 569 T

Car is a 2012 Octavia 1.6 CR TDI Estate, soon to have MF wheel and Cruise Control

thanks in advance for any advice.
