Bolero/CD Changer

Featured Replies

Just got a Bolero tonight from a member here.

Can't permanently fix it in yet as I only have a H prefix CAN Gateway. But thought I would try it.

Whipped out the Stream and plugged in the Bolero. All is good, nice HU compared to the Stream.

Noticed now that my CD Changer in the boot is redundant due to 6 CD slot in the Bolero. Is this correct?

Or am I supposed to now have 12 CD slots?

I can't find a way of playing the music from my changer in the boot.

Forgot to say when I press Media button it says there is no Media.

Appreciate any answers.

IIRC when you see 6 changer slots on the screen there should be a scroll-bar on the right that will scroll to 7-12. IIRC it is possible to code out the boot-changer though, so you might have a Bolero that's not set for recognising the boot changer.

Having said that, the 6 in the dash will all read MP3 CDs, makes the boot-changer a little redundant ;)

Media button would also be for MP3 files on the SD card or for a connected MDI controller.

Did you have any / all of these filled?

As above, you can have the CD changer in the boot as well, but why would you need to? (Says the man that had to make sure his CDC still worked with his Columbus and MDI...)

Thanks for replies guys.

I must admit I didn't scroll down in the cd section. It was just a quick plug in and see if it works then I took it out. I need to get another Gateway this week as mine is a prefix H.

When I fit it I will recheck everything.

When I plugged in the bolero I heard its cd changer work but not the boot one.

When I replugged the stream back in after I heard the boot one working.

When I fitted my bolero I lost the cd changer aswell. Mike Holroyd seems to think its because I have a 2012 bolero and a 2006 cd changer possible old and new aren't compatible.

I see thanks. This bolero is quite new.

It doesn't matter if it won't work. It would be a bonus if possible.

Just for clarity, my Bolero was an early one (it had the dimming issue), so it is conceivable that when the manufacturer changed, so did the spec, dropping the boot-changer default.

6 CDs of MP3 + SD Card should be enough to be getting along with though ;) ;)

Yes I thought that. I'm not bothered about it. I'll get a 8gb SD card and i will be happy then. Just waiting for my new CAN Gateway then I will fit it all :)
