HELP! Boot lock in locked in lock position & rear wiper / jet doesn't work

Featured Replies

Please help.

Boot won't close on 55 Octavia Estate 4x4 and rear wiper and washer wont operate.

When you press the boot lock button to open the boot the mechanism does not operate. The mechanism seems to be jamed in the 'open' position so when the boot is closed the piston which drives an arm which interacts on the lock won't allow the lock to close on the catch.

There is no whuring sound when the button on the boot is operated - just a click of the button.

Same with rear wiper and wash jets when leaver operated nothing happens.

Checked fuse for rear wiper. OK

Checked the lead which powers the boot lock motor and theres no power when switch is operated.

Can anyone help my boot will not close or lock and I can't wash or wipe my rear window.

Thanks

Martin

If your boot wont close properly the rear wiper wont work as when boots open the car deactivates the rear wiper. Sounds like youll need a new boot lock mechinism.
