Android tablet is not a make!

What make is on the box or on the back?

I have one of these, to clarify it IS just called ANDROID. There are a few on the market with no specific name. Its a good piece of kit, no ipad by any means but its also no where near the price of an ipad, but does the same kinda things, just via the android market.

It's just a cheap tablet with no brand name etc.

Often referred to as Allwinner A10 tablets due to the Allwinner processor and chipset they use.

I have one at home that I got off ebay for £40. It does just fine for me.

Runs at 1.2GHz, 512MB RAM, 4GB Memory and decent Mali 400 graphics chip.

Bought one of these for my son at Christmas - They come from China.

They are not that bad for playing games on from the Google play store however the wireless is shocking - It takes nearly 10 minutes to load a game from the Google play store onto the device.

The battery life is poor and having to use a wall socket converter & with the charger made in China it scares the hell out of me and I wont let my son touch it whilst charging.

Other than that it isn't a bad device =) I would recommend purchasing it for a 5 - 6 year old as it is cheap and my son has already cracked the screen by dropping it!

If the wifi si shocking you may find that the internal aerial is badly placed and partly sandwiched between the battery and screen. It's an easy fix to sort if you are confident of splitting the unit (usually 2 screws on the end conatining the jacks and some clips around the outside that can be gently prised open with a jewellers screwdriver or a guitar plectrum...)
